| DDI uses an established
work process that is precise and logical in order to obtain a foreseeable
result, that is to say the commercial success of your products.
DDI favors a flexible approach to this process that enables to identify,
after discussion with the client, the work steps to be included
in the project. Here are the work phases ;
1) PRELIMINARY DESIGN (including):
1.1) Briefing:
This step's purpose is to identify and discuss the goals of the
project, it also serves as reference in the evaluation of solutions.
The project's essential constraints are also established through
briefing.
1.2) Research and documentation:
This step aims at selecting competitive products and at gathering
information on their characteristics in order to conduct a detailed
analysis.
.
1.3) Competitive analysis:
The objective of this step is to analyze selected competitive products
in order to draw conclusions on all the studied aspects (functional,
aesthetic, mechanical, ergonomical, economic etc.). These conclusions
allow us to determine the design possibilities for a new product.
1.4) Market analysis:
The goal of this step is to define and better understand the target
market of the product in question. An analysis of the characteristics
of a market and of its consumers will all the more point out the
factors to be considered when designing the new product(s).
1.5) Product design:
Through product design, all the knowledge and parameters ensuing
from the previous study are put into practice. At this step, the
assimilation of the basic information serves as a scale to create
optimal and distinctive solutions.
1.6) Visual presentation:
The design propositions are illustrated and presented to the client
so as to explain the chosen concept(s).
1.7) Prototype or model:
At this stage, a three (3) dimensional model is developed to visualize
the product and to run ergonomical tests on the product.
PHASE 2) FINAL DESIGN (including):
2.1) Technical drawings:
A plan and estimate are elaborated to provide a technical definition
of the product (preliminary or production technical drawings).
2.2) Final model or prototype:
Realization of a three (3) dimensional model of the final product
design.
2.3) Research of parts
manufacturer or supplier:
Selection of potential manufacturers or suppliers for a production
cost evaluation of parts or components.
2.4) Pre-production supervision:
Follow up of the production process in collaboration with the manufacturers
